Artist research, Carolina Melis.

I think that this piece of work has lots of patterns on the birds and butterflies, the tree like drawing where the bird is standing looks like it's been sewn on which is different. I like how the artist has added bright colourful patterns onto the bird and butterflies, making it stand out with a part of the bird and butterflies having dark colours on them as well. The plain background makes the bird and butterflies stand out more.

Carolina Melis uses lots of different types of techniques to complete her work. Techniques she uses are; illustrations, embroideries, photo collages, she also does animation ect. This gives her a variety of techniques she can use and has mixed some techniques together in some of her art work.

This artist has inspired me to use more mixed media in my work, like using acrylic paint and soft pastels in one piece and then mixing other types of techniques in other pieces of work.
