Today I started my birds of a feather project.
Chris Andrews (artist) artist research.
It's simple with bright colours which he has used to vary the different tones in and he hasn't blended the darker tones straight in. He has made like a sort of square pattern mixed in with the other brighter colours which makes it simple and stand out.
He also uses text in his work saying the name of the bird in bold simple text with bright colours which makes the image look simple and it brings it all together.
Chris Andrews is a illustrator and screen printer, he loves the use of colour and texture which he uses widely in his work. He also loves peeling paint.
Chris Andrews has inspired me by the use of his colour and tone. I like in his work how he makes it so simple and it's so clear on what it is. In this piece what I love about it is the way it has a plain back ground with a border it's simple and it lets the person who's looking at the work see the main art work. It's simple and not complex as you don't have to work out anything, you can just see the image itself and admire what your looking at, you can see the simple use of colour and tone. And it has written on the piece of art what type of bird it is which is also really simple, and the words bring it all together as one piece.
