Artist Research 'Kate Gibb'

This piece of work is bright with lots of different colours and she has added little shapes in the centre of the heads and made an effect that the brightly coloured shapes are exploding from the centre of the heads. The heads don't have any detail or facial features to them they have a square like effect going round them sort of like a disco ball pattern in dark purple and they have two boarders one white and thick the other thin and pink with a green background putting it all together. The heads mouths look like they are singing which gives me the impression that the theme for this piece of her work is music or party themed.

Kate Gibb is a printmaker and illustrator and is self taught mainly, her work is always improving over time. She has worked with many different people and company's which has given her lots of experience. She worked a lot with textiles and the patterns of fabrics with there brightly coloured tones and unusual patterns this has had an affect on her work which makes her unique in creating unusual brightly coloured, patterned art work.

Kate Gibb has inspired me with the use of bright colours and use of different patterns and the way you can shape them together making unusual and stand out pieces of work. She has also inspired me on the different themes that you can use and mixing the themes in with colour and patterns both large patterns and small patterns.
